 Our endoscopy center (the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center) is licensed and surveyed annually by the Indiana State Department of Health and is a Medicare-certified facility.
Since it was established in 1991, it has continued to be the area's only outpatient surgery center dedicated solely to performing colonoscopy and esophageal endoscopy procedures. In 2004, the center was newly remodeled and expanded to include four endoscopy suites and a large centralized area for patient admissions, nurse observation (right) and patient recovery.
All endoscopy procedures are performed exclusively by our team of board-certified gastroenterologists who are all members of Gastroenterology Associates. Our physicians are supported by a highly trained team (see our staff) of registered nurses, technicians and support personnel who are dedicated to your comfort and safety. Our physicians and registered nurses in the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center have received additional training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center is wholly owned and directed by Gastroenterology Associates and its physicians who are responsible for ensuring that you not only receive high quality care but also are highly satisfied with the care you received.
Most individuals don't look forward to having an endoscopy procedure. Often these procedures are viewed as inconvenient and uncomfortable experiences. At our endoscopy center, we have worked hard to improve the patient experience by making endoscopy procedures both convenient and comfortable while maintaining the highest degrees of quality and safety.
Our patients are often pleasantly surprised by the relative ease of their experience at our center. Compared with the hospital setting, our processes from registration through discharge are both easy and efficient. The majority of our patients spend less than 3 hours at our facility but at the same time don't feel they were rushed or hurried.
The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center is conveniently located off Washington Avenue on the campus of St. Mary's Hospital at 801 St. Mary's Drive, Suite 110 West, on the first floor beneath the physicians' clinical offices, Gastroenterology Associates. |
